What is one to do when they suddenly can’t wash their dishes, or drive someplace, or watch that copy of “Avatar” that’s been sitting on their TV mantle for weeks?
Enter: THE PEOPLE WHO FIX THINGS!
I like to call these people “Life’s true super-heroes.” Sure, they can’t fly in the air or leap tall buildings in a single bound. But I’ll be darned if I don’t feel like they’ve saved the day after repairing something I know I would NOT have been able to fix.
It doesn’t even have to be a Herculean task. Recently, I couldn’t get my toilet to flush. I contacted our landlord – a woman in her late 30s who is also quite handy with tools – and she was able to come over, look at the toilet, and fix the problem in less than five minutes with nothing more than a wrench and a quick turn of the water pipe nozzle (which, it turns out, hadn’t been properly turned on by the person who installed it).
Again, not a HUGE task, but for someone who needed a working toilet, this person was a GOD-SEND.
Ah, people who fix things… now THAT’S something to be thankful for!
