#0033: Knowing that Both Regular People AND Celebrities Can Be Throw in Jail

There she sat in the courtroom, waiting for the judge to decide her fate.

Granted, she had been here many times before.  Between her drug and alcohol problems, various fights with her parents and/or dating partners, and repeated violations of all kinds of paroles, she already knew what was about to go down.

Of course, with all those times before she had been able to turn on her charm to the judge and jury, and walk away with sentences that were light.  A “curfew” punishment here, an “alcohol-monitoring anklet” there, it didn’t matter to her. All of her court dealings ended with the same result: her being able to go back home and enjoy her freedom.

But not today.

No, the judge had seen enough.  Tired of seeing this beautiful, talented actress show disdain for authority time and time again, the judge would not be so lenient this time.  She looked at the girl before her in the courtroom and decided that, this time, there would be no breaks allowed.

The judge looked at her and said boldly:

“Lindsay Lohan – you are hereby sentenced to 90 days in jail.”

She couldn’t believe it.  The girl who had always managed to talk herself back into her freedom would now be locked down. Behind bars.  For 90 days.*  (*Pending good behavior and other factors that could lead to a shorter sentence.)

She cried to the judge in court, begging and pleading not to send her away.  But it was not to be.

And so, Lindsay Lohan learned a hard lesson that day: no matter how much money you have; no matter how good your defense is; and no matter how many times in your life people have given you second, third, fourth, fifth, etc. number of chances, one thing is clear:

IF YOU MESS AROUND WITH THE LAW TOO MUCH YOU, TOO, CAN BE THROWN IN JAIL JUST LIKE THE REST OF US.

Ah, knowing that both regular people AND celebrities can be thrown in jail… now THAT’S something to be thankful for!
